Kelly L. McKerahan, D.O.

Board-certified osteopathic physician Dr. Kelly L. McKerahan has been honored to serve his community of Murrieta, CA for two decades. At his self-owned and operated practice, Dr. McKerahan provides personalized primary care services, as well as aesthetic treatments, to individuals ages 8 and above. As a physician whose Christian faith is very close to his heart, Dr. McKerahan is more than happy to incorporate spiritual and holistic approaches into your one-of-a-kind care.

After graduating from high school, Dr. McKerahan went on to earn his bachelor's degree in biology from Marietta College in Ohio, followed by a master's degree in microbiology. He then attended Ohio University where he obtained his doctorate in osteopathic medicine. Dr. McKerahan was accepted to an internship at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, OH and completed his residency in family medicine at The Ohio State University.

For over 20 years, Dr. McKerahan has maintained board certification in osteopathic medicine through the American Academy of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He also completed a full acupuncture training program at the University of California in Los Angeles and Stanford University and is certified in wilderness medicine. Dr. McKerahan is licensed to practice in both California and Ohio.

Having access to compassionate, high-quality medical care is invaluable, especially when disasters or accidents happen. Throughout his career, Dr. McKerahan has given himself and his services to individuals who desperately needed help. He has volunteered nationally and internationally, working as a medical care provider for people in need many times. He has also participated in medical mission trips. Some of his past and present volunteer experiences include:

• Volunteering at free clinics in Columbus, OH
• Spent part of his residency training in Jamaica, serving in a low-income clinic
• Volunteered at emergency clinics in Louisiana after the Hurricane Katrina Disaster of 2005
• Volunteered at Rancho Community Church’s free medical clinic
• Currently a medical student mentor and adjunct clinical faculty at UC Riverside School of Medicine
• Volunteers at Project Touch Homeless Ministry emergency shelter

Dr. McKerahan resides in Murrieta, CA and has been married to his wife, Karin, for 34 years. They have a daughter, Megan. Dr. McKerahan and his family are members of Reliance Church in Temecula where they attend services regularly and actively participate in their church community. When he is not in the office, Dr. McKerahan enjoys traveling, skiing, scuba diving, participating in motorsports, watching Ohio State football games, and learning to play the bass guitar. He has also competed in seven Ironman Triathlons and completed over a dozen marathons and half-marathons.  Currently, Dr. McKerahan is training for his 8th Ironman Triathlon in October 2022.
