In some cases, the tattoo will require a number of sessions before noticeable results are seen. At the end of each treatment, a topical cream will be applied to the skin, along with bandages to protect the area. You may feel a sunburned sensation followed by a slight scabbing. It's important to adhere to aftercare instructions carefully to expedite the recovery process. Once the site is ready, your next session may be scheduled. Dr. McKerahan does not recommend scheduling sessions sooner than 4 – 7 weeks apart.
